Gender Equality and Land Rights

FOODTANK fosters inclusive communities by combating gender-based violence, enhancing women’s and youth’s access to land rights, and empowering indigenous individuals in Tanzania. The program raises awareness of legal rights, promotes equitable land ownership, and encourages community engagement to create safe, just, and resilient societies where everyone has equal access to resources.

Program Overview

FOODTANK works with women, youth, indigenous communities, local leaders, and stakeholders through community awareness, capacity building, and rights-based approaches. 

The program uses dialogue sessions, legal empowerment, gender-transformative training, and advocacy to address GBV, promote equal land ownership, and strengthen women’s and youth’s participation in decision-making.

 By combining local knowledge with human rights approaches, the program builds inclusive communities where women and men can access, control, and benefit from land and other resources equally.
